On February 21, 2025, Collinsville hosted the ACT Bootcamp for juniors to prepare for the upcoming ACT exam. The ACT Bootcamp lasted for approximately 2.5 hours with students being split up into Groups A and B. Leading the Bootcamp was Mrs. Hilley and Mrs. Graham. They spoke to the students and gave them tips and tricks for the exam. They covered several parts of the exam from the math, reading, science, and english sections.
Mrs. Graham covered the math and science sections, in the auditorium, while the reading, English, and writing sections were covered in the library with Mrs. Hilley. As motivation for the students to pay attention, they gave out prizes to those who responded to their questions. Prizes given out include an TI calculator, small notebooks, and other little fidgets, and other trinkets. After the mention of prizes, students were excited and started competing with one another.
The ACT Bootcamp received mixed reviews with some enjoying it for the competition and others felt it was boring. Nonetheless, the tips students received during this time will aid them in their upcoming ACT exam on March 11, 2025. With only two weeks remaining, how well will students be prepared for the exam? Will they get better scores than those from the previous years? We have faith in our students at Collinsville High School and we are very grateful to Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Hilley for taking the time to help our students!
