Roberto Corona has been a student at Collinsville High school since Kindergarten. Roberto is a great student that takes pride in maintaining honor roll. He is also a member of the Beta Club. Beta Club members must maintain academic achievement, upstanding moral character, and be willing to serve others when needed. Roberto demonstrates all of these characteristics with ease. Mrs. Sullivan stated, “Roberto has kind mannerisms, a hard work ethic, and a very humble attitude. He is a pleasure to have in class.” Everyone that knows Roberto knows he has a very positive outlook and is a role model to others surrounding him.
The Panther Press interviewed Roberto and asked about how he maintains such a positive attitude. He replied, “I think about my parents and older siblings that were not able to finish school or accomplish the things that I have had the opportunity to achieve.” Roberto is a great student and he also has an upstanding work ethic outside of school. When Roberto is not at school or work he enjoys spending time outside and he mentioned how peaceful he feels being surrounded by nature with his family and friends. Roberto also told Panther Press he has a close relationship with God. He tries to attend Mass on Sundays every chance that he gets even if he has to go alone.
Roberto is a very ambitious person and after high school he wants to attend trade school for welding and maybe even look into becoming a real estate agent. Roberto is very grateful for his time at Collinsville High School and he specifically mentioned how much he appreciates Mrs. Marroquin and all she has done to push him to be the best student he can be. While Roberto will miss CHS he is excited to pursue his next chapter in life.
