Last weekend, CHS students and faculty got to enjoy the snow. Although it does not snow here often, the people of Collinsville definitely seem to know how to enjoy it. Students who are in FACS classes with Mrs. Arnold took part in a snowman competition, some of the elementary kids took part in the snow angel challenge, several people were involved in snowball fights, everyone enjoyed the day off of school, and even our principals got in on the fun by sledding.
Will Edmondson was asked about his snow day experience and said, “It started off with me, Allen, and Rajuess tying an old car hood to the back of the side by side, and trying to sling each other off of it.” He then went on to talk about his snowball fight with some of his other friends. When she was asked about the snowball fight, Alina said “I went downtown with my brother to see Yensi, and we got on the four wheeler to attempt a ‘drive by’ on Will, Allen, and Rajuess.” She also claims that her team won by a landslide. Alina hopes that it will snow next week, but doesn’t feel very confident that there will be enough to play in.
Marlee Colvin, a fourth grader who was challenged by her softball teammate, Karli McAteer, to take part in the snow angel challenge said “My favorite part of the snow was getting to build snowmen with my family, and riding the sled with my cousins!” She was also excited to try her first batch of snow cream. When asked what she thought about the possibility of snow falling again next week, she responded, “I really hope it snows a lot next week so I get to play in it again!”
